The sibling stars win all the awards this week

Sometimes it’s the supporting actors that give the best performance and steal the movie from the “star”.

Often in our family we are all bit part actors to Chelsea’s starring role  (see previous) and yet this weekend was once again all about the amazing performance of the sibling stars.

Zachary went up to KL in Malaysia for the IASAS Model United Nations (MUN) Zachary MUN Russian Reunion 2Conference and came back tired but totally inspired and successful having been voted the Best Delegate of his committee (disarmament), Best Dressed and a Best Speaker. He loves the big red countries and seems to give his best performance when he is playing for them so this week he was all about Mother Russia and the need for a Russian Reunion. The entire SAS Eagles team (photo) was incredible and made us all proud. MUN  is Zachary’s passion and he wants to make service and diplomacy his future and i couldn’t be prouder.

and while that was going on Francesca was busy racing around
raising funds and awareness of two important issues and charities.

FRanny at ChurchOn Saturday she helped  with the fundraising drive for the Bhutanese Refugee Education Project at church. Our childrens liturgy group are funding a nursery school (preK) for 1500 refugee children in Damak Nepal that is run by the Jesuit Refugee Service. More information on their facebook page,

run for hopeAnd then on Sunday it was up at 5:45am and off to the Marina Bay where she completed her first ever 10K race, a Race for Hope in aid of cancer research charities in Singapore. She ran in memory of Sarah Taub, the sister of my brother in law, who passed away from a very aggressive and rare form of cancer in October. She was so greatly loved by all who knew her and is missed by all her family and friends including us.

That Frannie chose to run in honour of Sarah just made me even prouder of her.

So the Siblings stole the show this weekend – and the limelight quite rightly shone firmly on them. It’s never easy being in the shadows and Chelsea can cast a pretty big one. I see sometimes that both Zach and Frannie hold themselves back when they are with her because they so want her to shine and to be seen.  It is so important that they step up and show the world their greatness without feeling guilty about Chelsea and her situation. I love that they love her so much that they are always thinking of her but I need them to balance that with their own achievements and most of all for them to have fun.

A great weekend for balance and today is definitely A Proud Mama Day !
